“What do you usually have for breakfast?”
Lightly
“Eggs, usually”
Stroking
“When I think of you,” he said
Her forearm
“Medium”
Across the table
“When the sun rises”
So pale
“In a bit of coconut oil”
Silken
“Over the glass surface”
Under
“Sprinkled with Himalayan salt”
His sea-worn
“Of the open water”
Weight
“Often with matcha tea”
How could she stand that stuff
“I want to close my eyes”
He could weep
“Sometimes cocoa”
That was tolerable at least
“And see every detail”
Tracing her fresh burn mark
“And a multivitamin”
He should cut back his morning mud brew
“If you ever need — anything”
Sighing
“I’ll send up a flare”
But he loved it
“A spark is all I need, baby”

This song sounds great with “Feeling That Way” featured in my previous post. Here they are together, for the uninitiated:

Eating breakfast while reading this. I’m having an egg over easy, a cup of morning mud brew and a side order of PG13.

Ummm I’m eating soggy Cheerios and drinking my own mud brew as I had my wisdom teeth yanked two days ago! Whatever wisdom I had left was left behind in the dentist office…
It’s now Free For All!

Hahahaha.
Now I have the Nuge song stuck in my head. He wasn’t quite as subtle as Danica.
“..when in doubt
I whip it out
I got me a rock and roll band
It’s a free for all..”

I’m kind of like Ozzy during an interview. Mostly mumbling, but once in a while I make sense.

I’m thinking we need a graph or chart illustrating the relationship or degrees of separation between Journey, Nugent and Ozzy — as well as influencing variables morning mud brew and wisdom teeth!

You’ve got me pondering degrees of separation between Ozzy, Nugent and Journey….

Haha! Free For All would be a great blog tagline. Haven’t had Cheerios in ages and is there a new chocolate flavor out? Or is that wishful thinking? Feel better soon!

Wonderful imagery from your words. So much so that I am now pining for a bit of breakfast myself. Especially eggs, haha!

Thank you, Stuart! Eggs can really hit the spot sometimes. 🙂

I love the slow deliberate pacing of this. I get a strong sense of anticipation. Like foreplay. Nice work, as usual, baby.

I love that you do. The slow deliberate pacing was a goal when I wrote this. Thanks so much, as always, baby.

This is brilliant. Danica. It reads like poetry.

Thanks, J, so glad you like this follow up. When I wrote the previous installment I thought that was all there was…but apparently not.
